Blue Sky Root Beer

Damn good root beer made with cane sugar, so you don't get the huge sugar spike.  When drinking root beer, I follow the A&W guidelines.  Take a large mug and place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes (I like to wet the mug inside and out).  Pour the drink like a beer into the cold mug.  You should have some slush parts sliding down the glass.  Enjoy!

Nespresso Coffee Machine

I'm back to drinking a cup of coffee a day and I've dusted off my Nespresso machine.  These machines are not for everyone, but they are great if you want consistent flavor and speed.  It warms up in under a minute and uses coffee pods.  I've had mine for 2 years and have had no problems.  http://www.nespresso.com/#/ca/en

Bard's Beer

Well, I finally tracked down the coveted Bard's Beer.  It is good and I didn't cringe when I drank them.  I still miss beer from light to dark and most importantly variety, but moving forward I would place Bard's in my fridge without hesitation.  Breweries listen to our cries- Urban GF Hippies need more variety, so start making more beer!!!

Udi vs Quejos Pizza Crust

I went with the Udi Regular crust versus the Quejos Cheese Pizza Crust.  I placed both on the rack to maintain consistency and followed their directions.

Here are the pies:
Start with some tomato paste thinly spread on the pie, next drizzle some olive oil, then add the toppings (pie #1: prosciutto, fresh basil, thinly sliced mushrooms; pie#2: ham, fresh pineapple), add cheese (mozzarella or non-dairy), top with some more drizzled oil.  Depending on how you like your cheese soft or slightly brown, pull out your kick-ass pies.

Which pie was the winner?
Split-decision.

Quejos is from Vancouver, the crust is a little oily (tasted before without oil added), and is super crispy.

Udi is from Colorado, the crust is less crispy due to the complexity of the shell (thicker than it's competitor).

They both have similar nutritional value, but we are eating pizza so who cares!  If you are feeling really lazy and want the best GF pies in Vancouver go to the Rocky Mountain Pizza Factory.

Last Weekend for Farmer's Market at Nat Bailey Stadium

I wanted to give props to my favorite GF bakery because I am not a huge fan of baked goods.  High Crow GF Foods make the best chocolate chip blondies.  The brilliant feature is that you can pick out corner pieces, which makes my day.

Here are their details:
